4 Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Next Event

If you’re looking for a way to draw customers and boost sales for your franchise location, you’ve probably come across blogs advising you to host an event. But are they really worth it?

The answer is, when done right, yes!

Event Hosting Tips

Events do take planning, effort, extra staff and, of course, money. But they are also an excellent chance to attract customers who might have not visited you previously. And they enhance community awareness and goodwill for your brand.

There are many ways to maximize the time and expense of hosting an event to get the best return on investment. Here are four ideas to incorporate into your planning.

  1. Appeal to Interests — A sale by itself isn’t an event. But hosting an event that aligns with your industry will bring like-minded customers to you. If you run a greenhouse, consider a garden show. Or if you have an automotive styling center, how about a car meet?
  2. Partner with Others — Decorations, extra staff, bounce house rental, food, etc. The tab for an event grows fast. But if you find other businesses to partner with, the event can be a win/win. If your business is in a mall or shopping center, make it a block party or ask local businesses if they’d be willing to attend and donate items to the event in return for exposure.
  3. Promote on Social — Worried about getting the word out without a big advertising bill? The good news is that you can promote your event on social media for free. Creating an event on Facebook means your fans can share the event to their own networks. You can also add paid boosts to target specific areas with a set budget.
  4. Gather Leads — Don’t forget to capture customer contact info during your event! While sign-up sheets are an easy way to do it, find creative ways to overcome customer hesitation. A drawing or raffle is a great way to gather leads and reward your customers for doing so. And don’t forget to follow up with an email, phone call or promotional offer following your event.
