San Antonio is an international airport in San Antonio, Texas that serves the metropolitan area of the Great San Antonio. The airport covers a 933 hectares land and is designed to comfortably serve from three runways. The airport is located in a central area to be able to serve the Central San Antonio, the uptown and the north of the Downtown
The airport has twelve airlines and can have daily departures and arrivals amounting to 260. The airlines serve 53 destinations that include 1 destination in Canada, 5 in Mexico and 47 in the United States. The airport has 25 gates which are sufficient for both arrivals and departures.

Brief History

The San Antonio International Airport came into the planning stage in 1941 and was planned to be built on a 490 hectares of land that was purchased by the City of San Antonio. It is in 1942 that the airport came in operation and the United States Army used it as an Air Force training base.

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park & Mission Trail

This historical park is a home to five missions that include the Alamo, Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion, Mission Espada and Mission San Juan. There is a trail that connects the missions and visitors can walk, run or cycle.

There is a driveway between the missions but for an exciting outdoor activity, biking is better as sightseeing will also be possible. The ample parking makes visitors have an easier access to the park as they can easily drive in and hire bikes from the park’s bike stations.

Market Square

This is a historic market that is also known as the El Mercado. A visit to the market will give the visitors an exciting shopping spree with a variety of unique items. Buy paintings, dolls, blankets, ponchos, jewelry, shoes, dresses, musical instruments, and much more from this market.

This largest Mexican market has a three-block strip of restaurants and shops to meet all the visitor’s needs. After a great shopping day, one can enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants.
