Each year, the world of technology, electronics and automotive come together at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January. After visiting CES 2017 last month, the team at Tint World® learned about new electronics trends from this year’s show that could be a part of the vehicle electronics offerings available in the years to come.
While some of the products that are showcased at CES are often a few years out from reaching the marketplace, many of the electronics innovations that are shared at the show will help determine the future of mobile and vehicle electronics.
New Vehicles: From the Faraday Future FF 91 to a new concept car from Fiat Chrysler, CES 2017 was filled with new vehicles that were being promoted by automakers. While the technology behind a number of these new vehicle options may seem years away from production vehicles, the new vehicles and their systems that were being offered at CES 2017 showed what the future will bring for automotive technology.
EV vehicles and chargers: As more and more automakers are looking to find ways to reach the electronic vehicle market, CES 2017 featured new updates for the EV world. Nissan announced that a new Nissan Leaf EV that features a driving range over 200 miles and technology for autonomous driving on single lane roads. For current and future owners of electronic vehicles, a new charging station called Chargepoint was shown at CES 2017, with the ability to offer a 100-mile range for electronic vehicles with only a 15-minute charge.
Technology Integration: The use of technology for home systems was evident at CES 2017, with a number of electronics manufacturers showing systems that mirror the Amazon Alexa for personal home technology purposes. Ford Motor Company announced a technology integration package with Amazon, creating a system that will move Alexa into Ford vehicles later this year so that drivers can use voice activation to reduce distractions while driving.
The world of mobile electronics continues to grow to meet consumer demand and indications from CES 2017 show that our vehicles will continue to use the latest mobile technology to enhance our driving experience.
