A few years ago, Lewis Pollack started looking for a business opportunity he could share with his son, Nate.
Lewis had a wide range of professional experience. He had been well on his way to a doctorate degree when he realized he didn’t want to pursue an academic career. He sold real estate for a while after leaving graduate school, then sold cars. He spent time in retail management and had finally landed in publishing.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, however, he was inspired to find something he and Nate could do together that would help them connect and set Nate up for a successful career.
“Nate was having trouble finding what he was passionate about,” Lewis said. “We had a few ideas for starting a business that we thought would be fun, but we weren’t sure we could make a living at them. So I started looking at franchise opportunities.”
Lewis was researching available franchise options online when he discovered Tint World®. He immediately took notice of the brand and watched several interviews with Tint World President Charles J. Bonfiglio.
“I knew as soon as I saw the concept that Nate would love it,” Lewis said. “And the more I learned about Charles and Tint World, I came to see that it was the right business model for us. I really like that he’s been a franchisee and approaches the whole business with that perspective in mind.”
Soon Lewis and Nate were opening Tint World Bremerton in Washington state. The first Tint World location in the Pacific Northwest, it was soon followed by Lewis and Nate’s second location, in Tacoma. They eagerly anticipate opening more locations to serve divers throughout the Seattle area and beyond.
“Nate and I are proud to have brought this experience to the area,” Lewis said. “It’s the best of both worlds for customers. They benefit from the buying power and vendor relationships of a big company but at the same time experience the attention and service you expect from a local family-owned business. We’ve seen that we can develop real relationships with customers. When you can help someone achieve the image of their vehicle that they’ve been carrying around in their head, that’s meaningful.”
