If Robert Harman had to describe Tint World® in one word, it would be “scalable.”
“It’s set up to help people grow their business,” he said. “With the number of profit centers available and the level of training and support they provide, you’re only limited by your drive and imagination.”
Harman immediately recognized the enormous opportunities available as soon as his uncle, David “Kit” Pelletier, and cousin Cameron Pelletier opened a Tint World location in Jacksonville, North Carolina, a few years ago.
Seeing their operation up close convinced him that a second location in the area would be a great investment. Now he’s co-owner of the thriving Tint World store in nearby Wilmington — and an enthusiastic proponent of the fastest-growing national automotive styling franchise.
“I went to school for eight years to get a master’s degree and was well on my way to the career path I’d dreamed of,” Harman said. “But I had enough confidence in Tint World that I was comfortable walking away from that and embracing the Tint World model.”
Harman and his father joined with the Pelletiers to open Tint World Wilmington in 2023. The new store is on pace to generate more than $1 million in revenue during its first 12 months.
The wide range of available services is one reason the store has made an immediate impact, he said. Instead of just another window tinting outlet, drivers appreciate the convenience and value Tint World offers as a one-stop shop for aftermarket automotive services. The Wilmington team has also taken advantage of opportunities to service fleets in the area.
More than anything, though, it’s Tint World’s innovative, repeatable franchise system and ongoing support that have powered the success of Tint World Wilmington.
“If you commit to the system, it can be a money-making juggernaut,” Harman said. “I spent some time helping Kit and Cam in Jacksonville, so we know what works and what doesn’t — and we’re only doing what works. Our experience, combined with Tint World’s proven franchise systems, helped us get up and running quickly, and we only expect to continue to grow from here.”
