Franchisee Spotlight: Andres Rangel

Andres Rangel has always loved vehicles. When he was younger, he wanted to know everything about them. Throughout his adult years, he’s carried that same passion forward.

Now, Rangel has a chance to live that passion out as the owner of the Tint World® Doral, Florida, location. “Even as a kid who didn’t have a driver’s license yet, I knew every single vehicle on the road even at nighttime,” he said. “I’ve always been into them.”

Rangel came into franchising after a stint in the military and a career in the tourism and travel industry. After years of selling cruise trips and then moving up to private yacht charters, he wanted a change. “I decided it was time to finally just work for myself in an industry that I am passionate about,” he said.

Rangel’s transition to business owner happened quickly. He had been looking for opportunities in automotive franchises and hadn’t found any that were appealing. That’s when he found Tint World®.

“It’s the only franchise brand in the automotive industry that appeals to me,” he said. “Everything else is like a repair shop or a parts store…boring! Tint World® is the only aftermarket vehicle customization franchise that’s out there.”

The more he looked into it, the more he liked it, and on Feb. 23, 2021, he signed a franchise agreement. Then, things started happening quickly. Since there was already a suitable location available in Doral, Rangel had to invest less time in getting the store built out and was on a faster opening schedule. He was able to cruise through the onboarding process and on June 18, less than four months later, the store opened for business.

“There was a lot to do in a short amount of time, but everybody involved at Tint World® greatly exceeded my expectations in everything. They were there to get me what I needed, making sure that everything was correct, and they even helped with negotiating the lease on the location. It was very positive.”

The Tint World® team has provided great ongoing support, Rangel said. “When it came to training my new employees, there was a full-time trainer from Tint World® at my store helping out pretty much from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every single day for the first two weeks. The team was available to answer my questions and help with the issues that can arise during the opening of any new business.”

A veteran who served six years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, Rangel said that he is able to apply the discipline he learned in the military as a business owner. He has jumped into his new role wholeheartedly. “My best experience as a store owner so far was running a customer’s credit card for the first time,” he said. “That first transaction is what sticks out to me because it meant we were officially open and doing business.”

Rangel is able to bring his love of vehicles to his new job every day. “I’ve had at least 15 vehicles so far, and I’ve modified every single one in one way or another. So, it’s always been something that has been part of my life.”

In the end, Rangel chose Tint World® because he knew he would enjoy being part of the franchise family. “When you look at the other automotive franchises out there, Tint World® is the only fun franchise in this industry. They’re the only customization shop out there that’s worth looking at.”
