Car Features to Be Thankful For

November 26, 2012

Even though Thanksgiving was last week, the holiday spirit is in full swing as other holidays like Christmas and Hanukah are just around the corner. Time with friends and family, delicious food, and Christmas songs (?)—there’s a lot to be thankful for. And while it’s easy to take certain things for granted, say the vehicle that gets you to your holiday destination, there are some specific car features that we should all be thankful for.

There are a lot of parties during the holidays. People welcome friends and family into their home or maybe even to a special venue. Getting to any of those places couldn’t be any easier. Why? Navigation systems. Thanks to navigation systems, which often feature voice navigation, people no longer need to worry if they’re going the right way to reach their holiday destination. Navigation systems save time and are so useful, basically routing your best course of action on the road as some systems even note traffic on highways. With navigation systems, you get where you need to be without the fuss.

Speaking of no fuss, voice commands have taken the driving experience to a whole new level. With voice commands, you’re safe to do all sorts of things in your vehicle while driving—make a phone call, turn up the heat, or change the music you’re listening to—everything you might need to do while on the way to grandma’s Christmas Eve dinner. Voice commands aren’t just convenient, they’re meant to create a safer driving experience.
Another feature that adds to a safer driving experience starts the minute you move your gear from park to reverse, rearview and blind spot cameras. With a tiny camera mounted to the back of your vehicle and a display screen located either on a dashboard or rearview mirror, you won’t ever have to turn your head backwards again to get out of a parking spot—even giving you a better idea of how close you are to a vehicle parked behind you. This feature comes in especially handy when your backseat is loaded with gifts, groceries, or even a Christmas tree blocking your view.

And when it comes to packing your vehicle with holiday goods, couldn’t you be more grateful for keyless entry remotes? Think about all the times coming out of the mall or supermarket with a bevy of bags in hand, not having to fumble around finding your key—just simply opening the door or trunk of a car with the utility of your keyless entry remote. The holidays can be so hectic at times; it’s great to get a little slack every now and then, even if it is just a little thing like taking advantage of keyless entry remotes for your vehicle.

So although a car’s features might not be the first thing you think about when you think of what you’re grateful for, here’s a special shout out to all the vehicles and they’re special little features that really (and literally), bring us together.
