Tint World® Spotlight: Robb Bagnall

August 25, 2022

Robb Bagnall has seen every side of the automotive electronics and audio business over the last 25 years. He’s been a store owner, a manufacturer’s rep, and even an installer. And that’s not counting his personal enthusiasm for car audio.

Now he’s using his experience to help Tint World® franchisees navigate the industry and make the most of their opportunities for growth and success. As the company’s franchise operations manager, Bagnall is tasked with providing daily support for Tint World® franchise locations throughout North America.

“My job title is franchise operations manager, but I’m more of a franchise consultant,” Bagnall said. “I guide our franchisees through all facets of the business. We pride ourselves on a system that sets franchisees up for success. Part of the system is ongoing proactive support and training in the products and processes that we know work for our franchisees.”

Bagnall spends about half his time on the road, visiting new and existing franchises to provide onsite training. It’s important to spend time in person with franchisees, he says, so the Tint World® system can be implemented to precisely fit each individual market.

“An analogy I like to make is that a franchise is like chicken noodle soup,” Bagnall said. “You can’t have chicken noodle soup without broth, chicken, and noodles. You might like celery or mushrooms in your chicken noodle soup, and I might like mine spicy, but as long as it’s still got those basic ingredients, it’s still chicken noodle soup.”

Bagnall’s lifelong interest in sound and audio has translated into a passion for live music. As opportunities to attend concerts disappeared in 2020, however, he became an avid vinyl collector.

“When you say ‘vinyl’ in this industry, people instantly assume you’re talking about vehicle wraps or graphics,” he said. “At first it was something new to maintain my interest while concerts and tours were on hold. But once you get into it, you want to keep it up.”

Something else Bagnall wants to keep going is Tint World®’s fantastic growth. He’s confident that the company has developed a franchise system that’s built for success, if franchisees are committed to it.

“It’s a recipe that works,” he said. “We’re giving franchisees tools and resources that we know will work for them.”
